Sorry this didn’t help. I just managed to install onenote on my new tablet after Xmas – but everytime I try and reinstall Onenote on this desktop, it just takes me to the inferior web version.

Quite annoying that I must buy office having spent the best part of two years depending on what I was led to believe was a free legal version.

OneNote used to be available to download seperatly for free. I’ve never purchased Office but have been using OneNote for a long time now. Paul, Onenote has always been free and i’ve previously downloaded it and installed it on a few computers.

However the option to download it from the Onenote website, which is where i’ve previously downloaded it from, appears to have been removed so it’s possible Microsoft now expect you either pay for a copy of Office or use the cutdown store version. Thanks Bernd but it appears you have to have a work or school account to use this? Just tried to enter my personal Microsoft account and it wouldn’t have it.

So far the only thing I have is the cut down store version of OneNote, surely the Desktop version must still be around somewhere? I solved it during trying to login by using an inconspicuous link at the lower end of an input mask saying something about access to an older login interface I don’t remember it exactly.

Then it worked with my private Microsoft Account. I noticed when you shared the download link you gave me the direct link rather than to a web page containing the link. Do you know if Microsoft are still making OneNote Desktop available to download from any of their sites at the moment? If Microsoft have pulled all references to OneNote Desktop from their sites it doesn’t bode too well for the future.
